Designing and refurbishing the Larkhill & District Credit Union in Santry, D9, required a full range of skills. From full architectural services right through to interior design, the project took two years from inception to completion. Our intention was that the new extension would agree with the existing building while at the same time, interiors and function of the extension would serve each part of the Credit Union.
The building’s original structure was that of a house on a terrace, but over the years it had been added to for it to better serve as a Credit Union. So the challenge was to make the domestic look more commercial and help it stand out on the row. We isolated it from the terrace with a complete overhaul. Using stone, glazing and an impressive entranceway, the building now has presence on the street.
