(As celebrated in Hitchcock’s ; North by Northwest; 1959)
Since 1952, this complex next to Turtle Bay Manhattan, has been used as the United Nations Headquarters. This is the most famous of the UN’s Headquarters worldwide. There are three other subsidiary Headquarters of which are located in Geneva (Switzerland), Vienna (Austria) and Nairobi (Kenya).
These buildings help represent how spread-out the UN’s work is. They also represent their interests such as facilitating Diplomatic Relations.
The UN Building in New York was designed by a Brazilian Architect Oscar Niemeyer with Swiss/French architect Le Corbrusier. The whole area of which the building rests upon is considered UN territory though it remains part of the United States.
